KAMSAO

During the last semester me and my friend, Eddy, designed a t-shirt to sell in the lowyat.net forum.

kamsaoms0

The idea came spontaneously as the term kamsao was used extensively among us describe an animal-like act. Since the term kamsao was also commonly used in the society, so we thought of selling a t-shirt based on it. After a few hours of designing using the photoshop, I posted the design to the forum, and we both went to sleep, but did not put high hopes on achieving anything - setting a typical minimum order of 25 pieces for the bulk to be successful. We were waiting for the response from the crowd before letting our other friends know.

So the next day after the class I went home checking for updates on the forum, I was surprised to see that there's an order from a forum member - although it's only ONE order at that time, but that first order inspired us much. Over the next few days we saw many other member ordered the t-shirt, and many other posted positive remarks for the idea and design. Our housemates, needless to say, ordered one piece each. At the end of the bulk, we printed 50 pieces of t-shirt, and it's all sold out now!

So much thanks have to be said especially to Tommy & Belinda, as both of them were promoting the t-shirt to their friends like their next meal depended on it. To Tommy, who have ordered 11 pieces, it shows how many kamsao friends you have, I really do appreciate your help to make this a successful bulk sales.

Will we develop kamsao as a brand? Or will we venture on to another business? Only time will tell.

Love is in the air

This year's Valentine's Day was great. It's our 3rd celebration together and this year's was just as good, if not better, than the previous years. We spent the day at The Curve, had lots of fun and the air was filled with love, literally.

We had our caricature drawn (for the first time!) and it didn't turn out the way we would like it. Apart from my hair (which is relatively easier to draw), it turns out that the drawing doesn't resemble us much.

Maybe my eyes look same, too

After the drawing, we went to Red Box for karaoke. It has been quite some time since just the both of us went to karaoke, and we had a great fun there. Since the both of us couldn't read Chinese words, I had the Chinese songs title printed out beforehand so that we could match them when selecting the songs. And we did sang many chinese songs, no matter how banana we are.

Happy us

We had our dinner at The Apartment, which we finally had a chance to go since we didn't make it for the during Christmas. The settings of the place was awesome, the overall meal was okay, but the service wasn't that efficient.

The soup, named the Neptune Soup, if I remembered correctly, is the best dish of the night. I would say the entrees were forgettable, as dear's roasted spring chicken and my lamb chop was mediocre at best. The dessert doesn't taste as good as it look as well. However, I think we're both glad that we had our dinner there. The environment was excellent, playing the right type of songs and the table was decorated beautifully with rose petals and other little stuffs.

Our day ended perfectly with the movie New In Town. The movie is quite romantic, filled with laugher throughout the show, and some great acting by Renee Zellweger & Harry Connick Jr (the guy who wanted to be somebody's Jerry in P.S I Love You).

So what's our gifts for Valentine's this year? I bought her the Gucci Envy Me, while dear made me a flower filled with Chuppa Chups, together with a box of chocolates! If there is anything to show sincerity and love that don't cost money, this is it.

I love the way we had our Valentine, and I love you, dear.

Cedar Point, Ohio

It’s confirmed! I’ll be going to the Work & Travel USA program this June! I’ve attended the interview last Saturday and I’ve got the position as Game Host. My date to start work would be 8th June and I will probably be flying on 6th June 2009. Sad part of it is that I’ll be going there all by myself, but I think I can manage to make friends over there, so it wouldn’t really be a problem.

I’m really excited about the prospect of working and travelling there. The next step is to apply the visa (after all the forms and documents are processed), meanwhile I’ll be making plans of which states to visit and where to stay etc.

Top Thrill Dragster. Can’t wait!

To my dear, I’m really sorry that I will have to leave you for a few months. I know our love would be strong enough to make it through these few months. I really hope that we can travel together in LA, San Francisco, Oregon and more. Good luck for your visa application dear :)

14th February, a day to express your love to your partner! Although many people have said that Valentine’s Day is over-rated, I genuinely believed that it’s a perfect opportunity to show how much you love your partner. You may argue that gifts and flowers can be sent every other day, but how often do we really give them to the other half if there is no special occasions? If you really do, I’d be happy for you =)

Will update again on how’s my valentine’s day with her. Till then, hope you have a great day as well :)

Hello Buddy!

Tommy has recently adopted a dog – been told that it’s a Spitz, but just yesterday the vet told him it’s actually a mixed German shepherd. The puppy is soo adorable! The madness of looking for a dog has finally came to an end and it is a new beginning for all of us in the house. Tommy named him Buddy.

I’ve never thought of rearing a dog since the last one I had in my home had been too naughty for us to keep. I guess me and my family weren’t patient enough to train him back then to be an obedient dog. His name was Benz (although he’s not from any pure breed to be so premium-priced) and was given to us by a relative. In few months we had him, he had bitten off a few pairs of our shoes. I’m not sure my sister’s phobia of dog started since then or even before we had Benz. Anyway, my parents decided to give him away as we couldn’t handle him. I was really sad to see him leave, and that’s the last I’ve ever wanting to rear a dog again.

Here in Semenyih is the best opportunity for me to be close with a dog again. The first few days have been difficult for all of us (including the neighbours!) since he barks endlessly if he couldn’t see any of us in the living room. He also pissed and poo-ed everywhere in the living room, causing Tommy to clean the floor continuously which is a good thing as our living room is always dirty except for the first week and the last week of our occupancies! But having him in the house also provided us with entertainment. It’s been so fun playing with him and training him.

Well, let’s welcome Buddy to this house of kamsao, and I’m sure he will have a good time with us!
