Stress!

Exam is a nightmare. Not sure if it's the stress or the effect of insufficient sleep, but had a terrible migraine. Took 5 panadols in less than 12 hours span just to get me thru the final revision and exam painlessly.

I just hope the last paper is gonna be over as soon as possible. :-/

Pre Exam Syndrome

What do people do when they're facing immense stress? From what I observed, some will run amok, some will commit suicide. But in our house in Sunway Semenyih, none of that happened. But strange things indeed happened.

At first we spent a long time trying to find a dog to rare in the house. But it ended that we went out to watch Bedtime Stories after the failure to find a petshop in Balakong.

The next day we intended to go SPCA Ampang to adopt a dog. But ended up buying food at Tesco Kajang for making steamboat at the night. Now it all seems that "find dog" is just an excuse for us to go out lol.

The amount we bought. For a night of streamboat for 7. Crazy!

Just look at the pork / chicken balls with the sausage!

The fun begins!

Cheers to the exam period :D

We really did overestimate ourselves. The food that we bought lasted for 3 meals. After the steamboat, we still can cook the sausage and balls with mee and another day with porridge (eddy, pls make better porridge next time ok =p).

It does seems that we aren't really under stress from the pics huh? Truth is that the stress is always in the house. Just that we're doing something else to unwind! =)

After last year experience of celebrating in the KLCC park and Bukit Bintang the previous year, I thought I had enough of the human traffic madness. So this time around, I thought of having a good dinner with friends and then enjoying the fireworks in the city.

The Lookout Point @ Langat Hill seemed like a good choice as it has one of the best city view around and also it's pretty near to Ampang. So, we make our way there as early as 7.30pm to get a table and stayed there til the countdown in the city. We ate at Gasoline, as it had better party environment.

Menu on that Gasoline that day was changed to a New Year set menu, a pathetic 5 choices of steaks, chops and spaghetti. I guess we all order one each of that in the menu. The steaks and chops were alright. But the spaghetti, sucks.

Average price of the meal costs RM30 +/-. But the price was irrelevant that day, as everyone just want a spot to see the the fireworks in the KL skyline. After eating the food, it's kinda tough to stay there for few hours before it's 12am. Not because we have nothing to do, but it's the dead stares of the other visitors who wanted to sit at our table. We have to constantly talk indirectly and loudly to let them know we're not gonna leave!

Main activity of the night: taking pictures

Playing cards.

The crowd of the night

The KL view right before countdown

The crowd that day was building up rapidly as the hours pass. But 12am came soon enough and by that time, the place was already packed with people. And finally, the fireworks came alive in the city and there's a short one in Lookout Point as well (no pics taken =p). Although many fireworks can be seen in different places, it's totally different than standing underneath KLCC or Bukit Bintang. Not as significant. I guess there's a price to pay and sacrifice to made if really wanna see the fireworks up close, right?

After the countdown, we made our way back to my home for some little drinking. This is where the horror starts! We are stucked in the lookout point and the hilly roads for almost 45 mins. By the time we reach my house, it's already over 2am =/.

Those guys finish a bottle of Hennesy VSOP (sorry no better drink in my house that night =p) in under an hour and quickly made their way home as it was getting really late. All in all, it's a fabulous way to welcome 2009 :)
